Neeranjan Murugan

Hey, Good to see you here 😊!

I'm Neeranjan (Nee), a 22-year-old Cybersecurity student who has a strong passion for penetration testing and Vulnerability Assessment! I stepped into this industry roughly 5-6 years ago when I started embarking on my diploma in Cybersecurity & Digital Forensics.

I've Been doing as much as I can in the infosec realm ever since! Feel free to check out my Progression and personal blog!

Always hungry for knowledge 🙏

What I Do

Ethical Hacking / Penetration Testing

Over the last 1-2 years, I've grown an interest in ethical hacking and penetration testing. I've come to like breaking applications and finding loopholes in them to take control of them. Thus, I've been working through various boxes in my free time!

Blogging

I have a blog of my own in which I write about the things I do relating back to cybersecurity, ethical hacking, hardware, and networking! I love writing, documenting and indulging in new technologies.

Tutoring

During my free time over the weekend, I tutor my juniors! I mainly cover topics such as Ethical Hacking and Intrusion Prevention, Server Administration, Securing Web Applications with PHP, and Incident Response & Management. I'm someone that believes strongly in sharing knowledge. Not everything I know was self-learned. Someone in my life decided to share that knowledge with me. Thus, I am now doing my part to pass it on!

Capture The Flag

I take part in a ton of Capture the Flag challenges during my free time to practice penetration testing in a safe and gamified environment. Being an Ex-Gamer, CTFs that are gamified really hits home and pushes me to complete more challenges.

Server Administration

I maintain a couple of servers in the cloud for a few people. Both web and OS level for various purposes. I've grown a love for servers, virtualization, hardware and computing over the years that I've been in the field.

Tinkering

I love tinkering with security solutions, penetration testing tools, virtual appliances, applications, and anything else that is related to security. I've always been an avid fan of open-sourced tools. I appreciate that we are able to get an open-source iteration of almost anything on the market right now and it's helping so many of us!
